Neffa: I didn't know what this guy looked like until I picked out his PB. My only criteria were "not fully white," "not bad-looking," and "could conceivably be a supernatural businessman." I went with Corbin Bleu because he fit all those criteria and had good facial expressions besides! But he's definitely not exactly what Neffa looks like in canon. (Neffa would never wear his hair that long; Ristopa's in the middle of the desert, do his stylists think he's insane??)

I don't usually decide exactly what characters I've written myself look like. The protagonist of Neffa's canon doesn't have a canon appearance, either-- in the story itself their appearances are usually only described in relation to each other, in that Neffa is taller, thinner, and a little darker than his protagonist bff, though to what degree is left vague. Unimportant, because I don't play said protagonist anywhere, but it does make Neffa a little more difficult to describe in-game!

Less important than what he looks like is the impression of himself Neffa tries to bring across. It's not his looks that matter, it's what he does with them - so long as he comes across as honest, trustworthy, and competent, he doesn't give it more than cursory thought, either.

As for Cecil: I don't have a solid headcanon appearance for Cecil, honestly. The fandom has drawn him as every race and species and otherworldly entity that could possibly exist, and there are incredibly few Cecil interpretations that I don't adore. This is one of my favorite Cecils, but I also love him looking a hell of a lot dweebier - though dapper is cool, too.

My favorite headcanon for Cecil's appearance is that he doesn't really have one - that he looks like people expect him to look, and though this is slightly (or radically) different for every person he knows, it never seems to produce any conflict in people's descriptions of him. I like his appearance having almost nothing to do with who he is; having one is a convenience more than a necessity for him.

THAT SAID, that doesn't apply in the Capitol, where he has had the appearance he was born with his entire life! I've incorporated the above headcanon a little bit by establishing that he is big into cosmetic changes - he likes to change up his hair and eye color, to get skin dye and semi-permanent tattoo jobs done, to spend a week with patches of scales on his face and neck and then switch it out for, like, an artistically-rendered third eye on his forehead. His PB was chosen more for his expressions than his appearance - Cecil is not quite so easy to pin down. B)
