She grabs his hand and starts running and Meallan is forced to break into a run as well in order to keep up, a brief, wry thought flickering across his mind that it's strange to be the one getting swept up in someone else's wake now. He's not about to complain though, concentrating on running in the heavy, thick shoes until they seem far enough from the battle to be safe and his lungs are starting to burn from it even after all the times he's been running in the past.

They have to be far enough away now and he starts to slow, listening more to hear if anyone else is close by before deciding it's safe enough to turn to her again.
