"Office job?" The term wasn't one that Gaius understood, but it sounded like she was some kind of shopkeeper's assistant. Definitely not someone who should be tooling around ruins with broken glass and nails and other nasty things. "No offense, but you might as well paint a big target on your back. You should find somewhere to hide and wait this out." No shame in running and hiding! That was like the thieves' motto or something.

He considered her proposition. "That's kind of a tall order, Tiger. And normally, I wouldn't do it unless there were at least a couple of pastries to sweeten the deal. But if it's just for a second, I guess I could swing it."

Gaius stepped out into the light, but only for a moment -- staying still in a place like this, who knew what could happen? Afterward, he disappeared back into the shadows, moving to a different location so as to be less of a sitting duck. "The name's Gaius."
