Kaena wasn't exactly unknown among these parts. A new face, yes, a débutante with her eyes set on the higher reaches of society and her claws sunk deep into the roots of corruption, but a name that had long ago been heard of. She was known for her hunger for power, her thirst for knowledge of the supernatural and the esoteric, with added interest in tributes who could not call themselves fully human without telling a little white lie. It was true that every citizen of Panem wanted little more than to watch these tributes do what they had brought in to do - survive and kill - but Kaena saw more potential in them than that. It was only a matter of time until she drained them of it.

Gown elaborate and make-up dark on her lips and around her eyes, the pale witch brushed her fingers on the lip of a glass, eyes downcast before her gaze fluttered around the room, slow and intent. She would not go to them - she'd wait for them to come to her, and when they did, she'd softly say:

"I've been watching you."
