Welcome new Tributes!
The Capitol has gathered a good crop of you at once, and to help morale, and to ease you into Capitol society they are throwing a banquet, just for those who work with the Games. Stylists, Escorts, mentors, a few of the Capitol elite, and of course, you all, the Tributes.
Instead of waking up in the normal way, new Tributes awake in lush beds, in a very posh ski lodge. Elegant but simple clothes are laid out for them, in a warm grey, and a note to come down as soon as they are ready. And if they linger too long, a peacekeeper appears to escort them down.
Those from the Capitol, are brought in on chartered party buses, one for each District, which are about as posh as a bus can get. It's a roughly 45 minute drive, well out of the Capitol's city limits.
Although the party is "mellow" by Capitol standards, it is still pretty damn extravagant. Alcohol flows freely, and banquet tables are kept fully stocked by silent avoxes. The whole ski lodge has been cleared out, and guest can hit up an ice skating rink, or pick out a swim suit and jumped into the huge, natural hot springs tubs.
As the night drags on, however, all does not go as planned. Half way through the night, there is a tremendous roar, and the hotel is plunged into pitch blackness. There is chaos for roughly 10 minutes, till low power emergency lights flicker on. However the generators don't have the power to keep the heater going.
A first aid station is set up, and the avoxes start pulling in blankets to the main lobby, lighting a fire in the fireplace and doing what they can to keep everyone warm. It is quickly communicated that there was an avalanche, and although the hotel remains in good shape, the power and the road to the Capitol has been cut out.
It's going to be a long night.

We are both a jamjar and a Hunger Games AU character game. You can choose to either have your character ported in from their world or AU them into Panem. Detailed knowledge of the Hunger Games is not required. We accept just about any character and character type that we can work into the world, including AUs, OCs, and up to 3 multiples (however, each versions of a character must be significantly different from the others.)
All the information you need can be found in this post, which can always be found at the top of the mod account. And if you don't find something you need, the FAQ is here, so drop us a line!
Welcome, and may the odds be ever in your favor!

Michiru Kaiou | Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon (Panem AU)
As a loyal District 4 citizen, of course Michiru gladly complied. And so when it was time for her solo, she was ready. Her attire was deceptively simple - her low-cut, spaghetti strap dress was blue, as were her long gloves, seemingly made of shimmering material. On closer look, however, the dress revealed that it was made of hundreds of elegant sheen satin scales, which individually glittered in the lights. A conch shell clip kept most of the hair out of her face as she picked up her violin out of its case.
Slowly taking off her gloves - men in the audience enjoyed it - and then brought the violin to her cheek with a delicate bend of her neck. Her bow was rosined and her strings were taut. And so, she played. And when she was done playing, and the claps had ceased, she mingled, looking to see who was new, and who was old, among the Tributes. To talk to them. To gauge them.
After all, if any rebel knew how to play the Capitol well and leave them unsuspecting, it was those of her home District. Even now they did so, navigating the cold, murky waters, confusing the sharks. And the violinist couldn't just let her comrades have all the fun playing in that water without her.

Elizabeth Midford | Kuroshitsuji
The Peacekeeper that escorts her down to the banquet hall isn't much more helpful than the note. But Lizzie knows how to be strong, and so she smiles and laughs and has empty little conversations with people who approach her. She's going to pretend she's not afraid. She's going to pretend she's not gauging possible exits and the likelihood she'll be able to run away.
She's fourteen and blonde and British, and she smiles brightly, holding a plate full of little cakes in one hand and talking to anyone who listens.]
Have you tried these? They're delicious!

Carlos the scientist | Welcome to Night Vale
Who is he? What does he want? Why is he wearing a dorky lab coat from home over otherwise elegant and stylish clothes? Does he even need those glasses? Why is he walking up to you?]
Excuse me. Sorry to bother you, but I have some questions about all this.

Marco Bodt | Attack on Titan (Victor AU)
He sighs, keeping to the edges of the banquet hall. He doesn't bother to hide the way he stares at some of the more inhuman looking tributes, and a few he even approaches for conversation. All in all he's doing his best to blend into the background.
But the way he keeps rubbing at his right eye might be a bit weird.
And then the way it pops out when he rubs it too hard is definitely weird.
"Ah, shoot..."

But the other bits? It sticks in his craw, it does. They want him to cull and yeah, sure, he's culled, he's culled lots. But these ain't zombies and he can't see none of these people getting to turn any time soon. The ones he can tell are his fellow tributes-to-be --and he can tell, a brother can always tell-- don't even look like to be getting their harsh on in times hashed in the now at all. Whole and true, most of them just look like they're needing to get a hug, and really, he could go for one too. What is a brother to do but follow his gumptions? What is he to do but get a listen on to his own heart?
So that's what he goes to do.

Tsukasa | .hack//Sign
Where am I? he looks around a bit confused. This isn't any of the zones I know of...
Finally noticing the note, Tsukasa takes his time reading over and over again until finally a peacekeeper comes to whom he asks few questions about what is going on. He never was much of a talker himself and figures this is just a new area and npc's from The World...
Finally convinced to come down to the party, Tsukasa takes his time looking around, staying away from the crowds and keeping to himself as much as possible while timidly enjoying some of the food. Somehow, the items in this zone taste a lot better than the ones he's tried before.
Kevin | Welcome to Night Vale
The peculiar man had picked his way along the banquet table, and now he was standing about with a plate full of...meat. Lots of meat - of every description, though the less cooked it was, the more likely it was that it was on his plate. Grin plastered across his face, obsidian eyes staring out into the ground, he tossed a piece of chicken into his mouth, still smiling as he chomped at it between pointed teeth.
He also had a glass of champagne, naturally. No need to be rude when it was so kindly offered!

kaena | OC ( panem au )
Gown elaborate and make-up dark on her lips and around her eyes, the pale witch brushed her fingers on the lip of a glass, eyes downcast before her gaze fluttered around the room, slow and intent. She would not go to them - she'd wait for them to come to her, and when they did, she'd softly say:
"I've been watching you."
june may | cloth road | panem au
why even come? as a sponsor, it would do well to evaluate the Tributes before the next Arena, see who even had a sliver of potential to be worthy of her assistance. seedlings, all of them, but which ones would bloom? which ones could even come within a mile of the beauty needed to succeed?
no matter. because of them, she shines even more radiantly, a lotus in a muddy pond. in that respect, she thinks she should be delighted she was invited.
so she's looking for those that don't blend in, those who seem to sit ill at ease with this situation--those tended to be the Tributes--and approach them a warm, friendly smile.]
I don't believe I've seen your face before. Would you mind telling me who you are?

Anna of Arendelle | Frozen
While normally not a fan of solitude, she went for it here, a little too embarrassed to sit too close to anyone else in her bathing suit like this. Sinking into the water, she sighed and closed her eyes. This might not be Arendelle, but this was nice... for now.

Feferi Piexes | Homestuck | AU Victor
Her dive in was smooth and shallow--even if it looked dangerously close to the rocks at the bottom--and when she surface, the gossamer fins framing either side of her face sparkled with drops of water.
When someone approaches from the changing area, she pulls herself half out of the water and waves them over, uncaring of who or what they might be.
"The water is shrimply amazing, you have to try it! So much better than that awful cold ice and skating business--no comparision!"

Evey | V For Vendetta
So she took a bath. Which, she had to admit, no number of morals or philosophy could stop from feeling good on her aching muscles. She slid back into the pool, only her shaved head still visible about the steam, and smiled slightly to herself as her eyes slipped shut.

The ice rink is where people aren't, and that is where Sherlock is. He has no desire to be here. Not with all the vices he's been avoiding, not with all of the people he'd rather not become attached to. That's what this place is about, really. Becoming attached to people you're meant to kill later. Becoming attached to luxury you can't possibly have once you've left.
It's a hateful place. And he can't leave. Can't go back to the New York he knew. Can't go back to the world of crime and darkness and honesty he's used to.

Copper | The Fox and The Hound | Victor AU
What he meant was, everybody was perfumed and dolled up and they wouldn't stop chattering with one another. Copper wasn't opposed to that, really. Not at all! He liked to think he was quite the friendly fellow, but there was such a thing as too much of a good thing. His good ears and nose had won him the Games, and at times like these they only gave him a headache. He had wandered away from the noise with a small smile on his face, eager to explore, looking positively boyish. There was a spring to his step and that would sometimes slow when he'd pass one of those new other-world Tributes.
He finds the ice rink and makes a move to give the experience a try, but stops himself. No, no, no use making himself look like a fool without a friend to share the misery with. He stays watching, happy to see everyone else seemingly enjoying themselves.
"So why aren't you out there?" Copper asks whoever comes up next to him, turning to them with a lopsided grin. He wouldn't even mind it if they didn't recognize him- he just liked the new company.

Subaru Sumeragi | Tokyo Babylon -> Hallways
His abilities didn't seem to work. His chants, his familiars. There were no spirits he could sense. If he was being honest with himself, he couldn't sense anything. Hokuto and Seishiro were no where to be found. And that unnerved him more than anything else.
Beyond that though, and the fact that this wasn't home, there didn't seem to be much out of the ordinary. The party was the most extravagant thing he had ever seen. Everyone was very polite and happy. He couldn't put his finger on what was wrong.
The noise, the glamour had gotten to be a bit much for the young onmyouji. Instead of sticking around, he chose to wander the halls, observing the foreign decor and trying to decide just where on earth he might be.
Or if, in fact, the whole thing really was a dream.

Carlos the scientist | Welcome to Night Vale | hallway
Carlos doesn't panic, though. He's been in worse situations. At least, for the moment. Carlos doesn't know how bad this situation is going to get yet. He pulls out a small flashlight that he always keeps in the pocket of his lab coat (next to a tape recorder and a spare, sterile container for samples -- you know, things no self-respecting scientist would ever be caught without) and shines it around the hall.]

So there was no real electricity. Or heat. Or many of those things pretty conducive to organic life. There was still the leftovers. Tasty, crispy, not at all grey goop like left overs. And a fire to sit cross-legged next to while he munched on them, more or less contently wrapped in a blanket. True, this had to be one of the stranger programs he'd ended up connected to, but that was life for you. If the matrix was easy they'd all be free already.
At least he still had his hat to keep him warm.
