Welcome new Tributes!

The Capitol has gathered a good crop of you at once, and to help morale, and to ease you into Capitol society they are throwing a banquet, just for those who work with the Games. Stylists, Escorts, mentors, a few of the Capitol elite, and of course, you all, the Tributes.

Instead of waking up in the normal way, new Tributes awake in lush beds, in a very posh ski lodge. Elegant but simple clothes are laid out for them, in a warm grey, and a note to come down as soon as they are ready. And if they linger too long, a peacekeeper appears to escort them down.

Those from the Capitol, are brought in on chartered party buses, one for each District, which are about as posh as a bus can get. It's a roughly 45 minute drive, well out of the Capitol's city limits.

Although the party is "mellow" by Capitol standards, it is still pretty damn extravagant. Alcohol flows freely, and banquet tables are kept fully stocked by silent avoxes. The whole ski lodge has been cleared out, and guest can hit up an ice skating rink, or pick out a swim suit and jumped into the huge, natural hot springs tubs.

As the night drags on, however, all does not go as planned. Half way through the night, there is a tremendous roar, and the hotel is plunged into pitch blackness. There is chaos for roughly 10 minutes, till low power emergency lights flicker on. However the generators don't have the power to keep the heater going.

A first aid station is set up, and the avoxes start pulling in blankets to the main lobby, lighting a fire in the fireplace and doing what they can to keep everyone warm. It is quickly communicated that there was an avalanche, and although the hotel remains in good shape, the power and the road to the Capitol has been cut out.

It's going to be a long night.

We accept just about any character and character type that we can work into the world, including AUs, OCs, and up to 3 multiples (however, each versions of a character must be significantly different from the others.)

This early on in the evening, the most productive thing there is to do, in Cecil's opinion, is to take as thorough a survey as possible of the new Tributes. This is, after all, a rare opportunity - not a packed-full public party, not some stuffy Gamemaker's soiree, but a relaxed, semi-private getaway, free of (unnecessary) cameras and open to the most natural kind of conversation. No interviews; no bright lights; just a gentle, friendly meeting of worlds.

With this purpose in mind, he's meandering through the crowd with his own flute of champagne in his hand, flashing smiles at friends and looking intently into the faces of occupied Tributes as he passes. He's not thinking about anything in particular-- the food is good, the ambiance is lovely, the anticipation leading up to the Games is at its not-quite-boiling point and everything is--

Most of the people here sit rather solidly on one side or another of the human/not-human divide. There are the Capitolites; the Tributes from their almost-Panem worlds; and then the ones like the gray-skinned, horned trolls, or that... many-legged deer-creature by the beverage table. Cecil stops when he realizes that Kevin does not fit solidly in either camp - human from a distance, yes, but his eyes don't change color properly with any shift in light, and even from the opposite side of the banquet table he can see those teeth...

He approaches. "Hello," he says, and the word is an invitation-- low and intent and intrigued. ...And friendly, he hopes. Friendly is important. Tributes: They're more than seasonal trends, these days!

At the greeting, the strange man perked up, turning to look right at Cecil. Even if the tone hadn't been threatening, it's debatable whether Kevin would have cared...there's not the slightest hint of nervousness about him, not even knowing what he has to do to be here.

The bite of meat he's chewing on gets hastily swallowed down, grin broadening even further.

"Hey there!" He has no idea who this guy is, why he's here, why he's so interested...but hey, it's a party! Parties are for mingling. "This is a great party!"
