The Return of the District Suite Meme

Basically, this meme is to figure out what it's like living with each other if our characters don't have CR already! Go below to your District thread and post what it's like living with your character. Do they leave their dirty dishes in the bathroom? Hit their snooze button eighteen times each morning? Steal food out of the fridge? Sexile people out of the living room? Leave passive-aggressive notes? Arrange "talking pillow" circles whenever someone forgets to say thank you?

Post it here!

Joel is actually a pretty decent roomie in the sense that he keeps to himself, doesn't make messes in the common area (and if he does he cleans them up promptly), doesn't stick his nose in other people's business, etc. If someone asks him too many questions, he might get snappy, but as long as he's left alone he's generally fine!

Ellie spends a metric fuckton of time with him, so it's safe to assume if your character is in D8 they have probably seen Ellie around. She maybe doesn't spend as much time with him as she did before Riley showed up, but I imagine she still hangs around quite a bit and at least once in a while spends the night with him in his room (they traveled together for a long time and generally feel safest in each other's presence, yay codependence!).

He cooks fairly frequently, and he will share his food with just about anyone as long as they don't bug him with stupid questions or whatever. He's especially fond of big breakfasts, which he makes for Ellie and the gaggle of other kids he's sort of adopted. Omelets, waffles, all kinds of stuff. He also grills burgers and steaks and things like that. No, he will not cook for a vegetarian or any other special dietary things. You don't like what he makes, you can make your own. Aside from the cooking, though, he doesn't spend too much time in the common areas.

Anyone who actually gets a glance inside his room will see that it is sparsely decorated - probably just a couple of things that Ellie gave him sitting around. The bed probably doesn't look slept in, because he doesn't sleep in it much, favoring a nest on the floor instead. He also pretty much permanently has the digital window control things set to a forest setting, with little foresty outdoor noises. He's also got a lot of nonperishable food stashed in his room.

Joel's breakfasts are the things heart attacks are made of. Responsible for like 90% of Clem's between-arena weight gain

That is an incredibly accurate description of like all of Joel's cooking.

"Greasy spoon" would probably also cover it. EAT UP, KIDS!

NATASHA.

She's still getting her footing in Panem, but for the most part? She stays up late, usually reading or watching whatever she can get on the television and keeps to herself. Now that she's had her first experience in an Arena, she's fallen into kind of a basic routine.

Up early in the morning to try to avoid as many of her suitemates as possible, she's a bit sluggish in her room and actually refuses to leave until she's perked up enough to not be caught off-guard. She eats her meals in her room, often while studying something and has little interest in talking with people.

If they do approach her, she's polite, but curt. Conversations don't yield much about her personal life sorry. Food wise, she makes efficient meals that provide plenty of the nutrients she needs. She doesn't drink alcohol on her own surprisingly and will often turn down others if they invite her to drink.

For those who are good at reading body language, it might be easy to pick up that she pays a lot of attention to a certain other suitemate's room and who goes inside of it. Sorry Matt.

It's likely she will have someone stay the night every so often in her room.

During this Arena only, she's staying in Matt's room at nights as if waiting for him.

He lives in the stylist quarters and has a work room, like Victory. If he's around, he spends most of his time in there. When he's in there, he's generally not dressed up in drag since it's a workroom for a reason. If he is dragged up, you know he has somewhere to go and he's just fiddling around.

His radio is usually set to gossip shows but when he's really trying to focus, he'll play classical music or mambo music. He likes to keep his work space orderly, but when deadlines are approaching it's a mess of fabric and sketches. Often, the sketches are just for procrastination. Caricatures of tributes and fellow tower staff are in abundance. He's a lot more subdued when he's working, but he's still just as blunt.

If he feels like socialising, he might loiter around the kitchen for some morning, mid-afternoon and midnight margaritas and very casually try to gossip with whoever is hanging around.

When an idea springs on him, he doesn't care if he's interrupting you, he'll grab you by the wrist and drag you to the workroom. He'll do the same if he sees any of his tributes in trouble or starting fights with people they shouldn't be. He tries to act like he doesn't care, but he fusses a lot over everyone in D8.

Brainy is the room-mate from hell. He mostly sticks to his room and when he does, he's a perfect room-mate - silent and not there

But when he doesn't, he's an absolute nightmare, though this is partly calculated to get people to hate him. He's a terrible room-mate to the Legion but he's made enough compromises with them to know how to make them at all. He wouldn't be as bad here in Panem if he wasn't trying to give an air of not-giving a fuck about being liked.

- He hogs the tv and any available media in the common area on occasion even when he could use the one in his room. Mostly he leaves really banal crap on and somehow it's always the most boring thing possible even if it seems like the kind of thing he wouldn't take interest in.

- Eats any food he likes even though he absolutely can read English notes saying it belongs to someone. If said food is not vegan he leaves passive-aggressive angry vegan notes about people eating meat on their food.

- Leaves dishes in the sink. If they ever get there. Sometimes they just get left around where the avoxes don't think to look for them so people step or sit on them.

- Leaves his boots or shoes random places where people might trip over them.

- Leaves clutter all over, especially paper clutter like books, magazines, newspapers, and anything he reads to learn about Panem culture. Yet if they get a peek inside his room, its spartan and spotless so he's clearly junking up everyone else's space but not his own.

- Sometimes leaves his TV up too loud in his room at night and basically never seems to sleep. Ignores if people knock and tell him to turn it down.

- Occasionally outright ignores people talking to him, or just does this dick thing where he holds up a hand to get them to stop talking and then never lowers his hand or indicates they can talk.

- Leaves passive-aggressive notes. Yes, he's that guy. He'll ignore your notes but he'll leave ones of his own. They're usually way more verbose than they need to be.

The list goes on.
