Cuddling is pretty much the bee's knees. You can do it in bed, while watching a movie, or pretty much anywhere else. You can forcibly cuddle someone. You can cuddle a pet. You can even cuddle while eating delicious food! So start cuddling.

[Bruce is not a touchy person. He is quintessentially an un-touchy person, in fact. Touching makes him anxious, because it always feels like the other person is brittle and delicate in his hands.

So that's why he doesn't use his hands. He's just reading next to Tony on the couch of District 3. Then, without really thinking about it, he just leans against Tony, still reading, as if he didn't notice that he was touching someone at all.]

[Tony was had been reading himself, quietly muttering to himself when something he was reading in the engineering article was wrong. So after first he doesn't realise at first that Bruce is leaning into him.

When it does occur to him, he looks up but not at Bruce. Gauging how he feels about it then leans back into Bruce himself before going back to his reading.]

[Bruce doesn't even notice for a while. He curls in on himself, reading slowly and steadily, unconsciously soothed by the easy rhythm of Tony's breathing and the warmth of another person.

As he begins to lull fifteen minutes into the contact, he notices that he is far too comfortable right now.

He looks up from his book, blinking at the wall, then goes rigid.

There is affection happening right now. He has no idea how he feels about this.]

[Tony asks when he feels Bruce going rigid, not looking up from his book.]

If it's an incorrect theory, believe me some of the ways they're talking about copper in here makes me think it's got a different composition here.

[Tony is clearly easily comfortable with their situation and not at all concerned in the slightest he's having a snuggle with not only another man but with one who has potential to smoosh him into the shape and thickness of a nickel under normal circumstances.]

[A part of Bruce urges him to leave right now. He shouldn't get used to touching again. The moment he has to worry about the Hulk again, it'll be just another thing that makes him more susceptible to an incident. To murdering the people around him.

Yeah, it's just that they grossly over-simplified something. Do you have a pen? I want to correct that in the margins.

[Tony snorts at what he says after his stop and start. Then leans into him more so he can pull a pen out of his pocket then offers it to him only slightly moving off him because it was more awkward than it was comfortable.]

Okay, I'm giving you the pen, but I'm going to say that you're heading down a dangerous path. They might find your corrections and tempt you with shiny laboratories to teach them more.

[He grins.]

How do you think Culver University got me? It wasn't for the bored college students, I'll tell you.

[Bruce flashes him one of his rare genuine smiles before taking the pen and scribbling something in neat script at the margins. He notices how Tony leans more into him. Knowing Tony, he's probably testing Bruce's boundaries, as usual. Or just flat-out disregarding them.

But you know what? Bruce doesn't really mind.]

I'm sure all the juicy grant money and access to some of my tech didn't hurt.

[Tony flips a page, clearly bored with the article he had been halfway through reading. He has never really had anyone to lean on before, he had tried once or twice with Rhodie, but the man was picky about how affection was to be shown. And with Pepper, well when they were dating it was different.

There was definitely a strong level of comfort to being like this with Bruce. So Tony had no intention of doing anything to change this unless one of them actually needed to pee. They could at least shout for food.]
