It was a prayer, not an inquiry. I'm still not a master of this art of detachment from individuals thing. Not there yet. I'm working on it.

Perhaps you should consider it less as detachment and more as knowing and accepting what our priorities must be.

I think detachment's a necessary part of it, yes. Or at least being better at it than I am right now.

That said, I think I'll get there. I care about people now, about our potential and how it's getting squandered, and some day I think you'll just be a fond memory as the person who set me on a good path.

But for now I hope for your safety and I hope for humanity's future, even if holding them both becomes cognitive dissonance eventually.
