Hoo boy, it's complicated. He'd thought well enough of Initiate upon their first meeting, and was a little intimidated at first, but he otherwise seemed like a solid sort of person that was probably on the same side of this whole mess as him. Getting captured and mind-whammied changed that completely, and he kicks himself for that initial assessment. Even though others have tried to explain that what's been stuck in his head isn't the truth, it feels real and it snaps right in with his own existing anxieties about trusting the wrong people and being mislead because of it.

Right now, he's at the point where he just wants to learn to co-exist in the same space with the guy. He doesn't want to be friends. He doesn't want to joke around, smile, do favors... he just wants to be able to exist within the same few feet of the guy and not completely lose his shit. And barring some dramatic social shift or happening, his attitude is likely to stay that way. The brainwashing experience has left him predisposed to thinking negatively towards Initiate, and he is jealous of all the people that he sees crowding around him to support and comfort him. But there's another thing that he has yet to be able to articulate well, ahahahah...
