Initiate left an impression upon Felicity's impressionable little mind. He was spooky and tall and cool-looking and poetic. Super-poetic. He put some thoughts into her head that, while there had already been plenty of space for them, have taken root and started to put out creeper vines into the rest of her thought processes. His story (and the other troll's stories, by extension) are heartbreaking and beautiful and otherworldly... it's so easy to get fixated on something like that.

Even after everything that's happened and everything the Capitol tried to do, deep down? She still likes him. And believes that he somehow meant the best, at least for the people he cares for. She's not stupid. She knows that this whole system is a mess. And acting out against it, even if it gets you avoxed or killed, is what someone who's really brave and strong would do.

She's not very brave or strong, though, so she tamps it all down and tries not to make her sad clown poetry that she scribbles in her notebooks too obvious.
